Get involved with Towards Maturity Benchmarking

It's never to late to get involved with the Towards Maturity Benchmark

To date over 1900 organisations have participated in the annual Towards Maturity Benchmark Study, the largest of its kind in Europe.

Data is gathered once a year in our formal benchmark period that contributes to our annual report.

However it is never too late to get involved!

If you are responsible for implementing learning technologies and want to deliver improvements across the board, you can visit the Towards Maturity Benchmark Centre to take part in a simple 3 step benchmark process to help improve performance:

1. Review your current implementation approaches –over the last  2years, 70% of participants found new ideas to drive their strategy by completing the review alone.

2. Compare your unique Towards Maturity Index with the very best - Those at the top of the index report 33% more savings, 6x decrease in time to competency and 6x improvement in productivity - where do you stand?

3. Act on your results – your personal feedback will help you prioritise your next steps.

Why Benchmark?

Peter Butler, Learning Director at LLoyds Banking Group explains this better than we can:

'The stark reality is this – if learning professionals aspire to be world class, to add core value and improve business performance, we have to be willing to constantly improve, I believe that benchmarking is an essential business tool required to achieve this and one that is not used often enough in learning. The Towards Maturity Benchmark opens up an opportunity to benchmark for all'

If you have not been involved in benchmarking before, now is the time to try it.

7 Reasons to get involved with the Towards Maturity Benchmark

  1. Review your strategic direction - will your current L&D practices position you to thrive and survive or is it time to change?
  2. Improve performance - Compare  your activity with the L&D practices proven to deliver results.
  3. Influence change - Use results to help build your business case for change
  4. Manage resources more effectively  - focus your activity on the areas that deliver
  5. Save time -  Use it to review and redirect your action plan to maximise chances of success
  6. Celebrate success - Provide independently verified proof of distance travelled in your company’s journey with learning innovation
  7. Encourage others – Your successes will help set the KPI's that others aspire to.

How much does this cost?

It is free to participate and to access  your basic report.

It will take about an hour of your time to reflect on your current practices via the online review in the Benchmark Centre. As soon as you have completed the review, you can generate your own basic benchmark and see how you compare with others.

Premium users can also see a more detailed report and have access to a wider range of research resources to help them act on the findings.

But I did it last year!

Benchmarking is a business tool for continuous improvement. We continue to update the benchmark to reflect current trends and practices. For example in 2011, we paid special attention to:

  • The challenges of implementing social and mobile learning
  • Bringing content creation in house
  • The changing skills of L&D teams

Our organisation is new to learning technology- is it worth us particpating?

Absolutely YES! Your resulting personalised benchmark will create a baseline for you and allow you to accelerate your results. This investment of your time now will pay off significantly in the future!

What about confidentiality?

All responses are treated confidentially in accordance with our  confidentiality policy.

Why the Towards Maturity Benchmark?

This Benchmark Study uniquely looks at how organisations are embedding innovative learning practices and the impact they are having. It provides you with 7 Key Performance Indicators for learning technologies to help you improve results. The Benchmark is continually being developed as a result of a unique industry collaboration across Europe.
