Biography:Howard has spent a lifetime helping individuals and organisations learn through the use of Technology. First in the Royal Navy, then for a supplier of early desktop simulations, then for Lloyds Bank and LloydsTSB, as Head of Training. A short spell in PricewaterhouseCoopers as e-learning Global Leader led to self employment as an e-learning strategic advisor and project manager. He has written two books, "Team-based Learning" (the culture needed in teams that learn) and "Individual Preferences in e-Learning" (linking personality preferences to the use of on-line resources). He concentrates on two things now. 1. Leadership for the virtual world as part of an on-line development and assessment centre supported by collaborative learning for managers. The example set by top management is crucial to success at e-learning. 2. Market and case study research into embedding e-learning which is exactly what Towards Maturity is achieving. Howard is very active in the Scout Association supporting leaders through some of the excellent training support provided by the Movement. He advises at Headquarters level, delivers training at County level, including training trainers and supports local leaders directly. He is a keen on caravanning and increasingly taking the opportunity to go on long holidays in warm places in the Spring and Autumn. |
